invalid_criteria

What happened

A filter you passed to People or Journeys is not one those endpoints accept, or its value is not allowed.

Why it usually happens

People and Journeys share one criteria vocabulary, bounded by the columns of the people view: created_via, origin_detail, first_touch_channel, first_touch_source, paid, has_email, current_plan. Anything outside that set is rejected at the boundary rather than being silently ignored. You will get this error when:

• a filter key is not one of the seven criteria above
• paid or has_email is not exactly true or false
• created_via is not one of stripe, form, events
• first_touch_channel is outside the nine channel buckets
• a Journeys group call omits from/to — the event window is required, because it is the only predicate that bounds the scan

Filtering on arbitrary product-event traits is not available on these endpoints.

How to fix

• Drop the unknown key, correct the value, or supply from and to.
• Read param on the error — it names the criteria key that was rejected.
