Create Experiment

Creates a draft A/B experiment. Provide a unique key, a name, at least two weighted variations (a control plus one or more arms), and optionally a hypothesis (recorded in the decision journal), a page_url (split-URL or DOM-patch page experiment), and goal_metric_ids / guardrail_metric_ids referencing experiment metrics.

Use it when you have a hypothesis and a variant page deployed. The experiment starts as a draft; nothing is served to visitors until you start it.

Goals are the metrics the experiment tries to move; guardrails are the metrics it must not hurt. Both point at the same reusable metric definitions — the role is assigned per experiment. Validation happens in the ingest service and its error envelope is relayed verbatim.
